Where There Is Smoke, There Is Fire

Where There Is Smoke, There Is Fire

We’ve known it all along, replacing tobacco cigarettes with e-cigarettes is a pipe dream if you think it is safer. A new UCLA study is showing that e-cigarettes may not be significantly safer than tobacco. Of course, if you look hard enough, you can find any study or report that states what you believe. This particular study found that e-cigarettes contain toxic substances and nanoparticles (metal, silica, and carbon) “that could kill the top layer of skin cells in the oral cavity.” These lab tests showed that “e-cigarette vapors may significantly weaken the oral cavity’s natural defense mechanism by decreasing the levels of an antioxidant called glutathione.” Roughly 85% of these tested cells died. Maybe it’s time to have that talk. http://bit.ly/29h4pYb
